The Jagiellonian University
Our conference will be organized by our team at
the
Jagiellonian
University in Krakow, Poland.
The Jagiellonian University is the oldest higher
education institution in Poland and one of the
oldest in Europe. It was founded on 12 May 1364.
The Jubilee year 2014 marked the 650th anniversary
of this remarkable event. Since its very
beginning, the Jagiellonian University has been an
international institution. Poles, Ruthenians,
Lithuanians, Hungarians, Germans, Czechs, the
Swiss, the English, the Dutch, the French, the
Spanish, Italians, and even Tatars studied here in
the old days.
The Jagiellonian University comprises 16
Faculties, where nearly 4 thousand academic staff
conduct research and provide education to over 40
thousand students, within the framework of more
than 80 different fields of study. The eminent
researchers and state-of-the-art infrastructure
make the JU one of the leading Polish scientific
institutions, collaborating with major academic
centres from all over the world.

World Heritage Sites in the world
Krakow was the official capital of Poland until
1596 and has traditionally been one of the
leading centers of Polish academic, economic,
cultural and artistic life. Cited as one of
Europe's most beautiful cities, its Old Town was
declared one of the ten first UNESCO World
Heritage Sites in the world.
The former capital city of Poland, Krakow was a
town with public, cultural and commercial
activities concentrated around the Europe's
largest Market Square and also one of the oldest
university quarters in Europe.
